Meet the dream team;

Penny - Chief Cook and Gardener

Penny is passionate about baking and cooks from the heart. She has a lot of cooking experience and has owned and run a large tearoom on Exmoor and cooked on numerous sailing boats. All food served at the Galley on the Hill is prepared from scratch using home grown produce where possible.

Penny considers it a personal challenge to grow as many different fruits and vegetables as possible in her large garden and two polytunnels. Proof that it is possible to grow apricots, asparagus and even grapes in North West Scotland.

Jamie - Cook and Off Grid Power Guru

Jamie has lived in Doune, Knoydart for most of his life when he hasn't been away sailing. He enjoys the challenges that arise from living in such a remote location. Currently his special area of focus is on off grid power systems which are needed by all the local houses. He is trying to help as many homes as possible become more energy efficient and make the best use of any renewable power available. We benefit from Jamie's prototype power systems and now generate 90% of all the power we use by renewables.
